IMPORTANT:
When using the remote control, check to see if its
remote control mode selector is set to the correct
position:
To operate this receiver, set it to "AUDIO/TV/
VCR" (except when selecting the DBS tuner as
the source).
3. Press EFFECT to select an effect EFFECT
level you want.
• Each time you press the button, the effect
level changes as follows:
F DSP EFFECT1--_DSP EFFECT2 _DSP EFFECT3 -I

DSPEFFECT5*---- DSPEFFECT4*--
As the number increases, the selected 3D-PHONIC mode
becomes stronger.
Once you have adiusted the 3D-PHONIC modes, the adjustment is
memorized for each 3D-PHONIC mode.
Befbre you start, remember...
• Make sure that you have set the speaker inlbrmation correctly
(see page 14).
• There is a time limit in doing the following steps, if the setting is
canceled before you finish, start fiom step 1 again.
On the front panel:
1. Press DSP MODE repeatedly" until DSPMODE
"3DACTION (or 3D DIGITAL)" I I
or "3D THEATER" appears on
the display.
The 3D-PHONIC, DSR PRO LOGIC and selected 3D-PHONIC
mode indicators also light up on the display.
2. Adjust the effect level.
1) Press BALANCE/SURROUND
ADJUS [ repeatedly until "DSP
EI_FECT" appears on the display.
The display changes to show the current
setting.
2) Turn MULTI JOG to select the effect
Level.
• As you turn it, the effect level changes
as follows:

As the number increases, the selected 3D-PHONIC mode

repeatedly until "3D ACTION (or
3D DIGITAL)" or "3D
THEATER" appears on the
display.
The 3D-PHONIC, DSP, PRO LOGIC and selected 3D-PHONIC
mode indicators also light up on the display.
2. Press SOUND. SOUND
The lO keys are activated for sound adjustments. (._-),-c-.
Once you have adjusted the DAP modes, the adjustment is
memorized for each DAP mode.
Betbre you start, remember...
• Make sure that you have set the speaker inibrmation correctly
(see page 14).
• There is a time limit in doing the following steps, if the setting is
canceled before you finish, start from step 1 again.
• You cannot adiust the rear speaker output level when you have set
"REAR SPK" to "NONE?' See page 14.
• When the DAP mode is used with the SEA mode (see page 19),
sounds may be distorted. If this happens, turn off the SEA mode.
On the front panel:
DSP MODE
1. Press DSP MODE repeatedly until (f II
the DAP mode -- LIVE CLUB,
DANCE CLUB, HALL, or
PAVILION-- appears on the
display.
The DSP and selected DAP mode indicators also light up on the
display.
• When you have set "REAR SPK" to "NONE," the 3D-
PHONIC indicator also lights up.

Adjust the speaker output levels.
1) Press BALANCE/SURROUND
ADJUST repeatedly until one of the
indications appears on the display.
"REAR L LEVEL":
To adjust the left rear speaker level.
"REAR R LEVEL":
To adjust the fight rear speaker level.
2) "lurn MULTI dOG to adjust the
selected speaker output level (from -10
dB to +lO dB).
3) Repeat 1) and 2) to adjust the other
speaker output level.
