Note the following considerations for the diode(s) selection:
– The DUT’s input voltage should consider the voltage drop across the diode.
The typical threshold voltage of a silicon diode is 0.6 V to 0.7 V.
– The series diode selected must have a current specification of 10% to 20%
derating margin.
– Select the zener diode’s voltage according to the DUT’s input voltage rating
and at least 1 watt power rating or higher.
