Measuring Multiple Signals
Comparing Signals not on the Same Screen Using Marker Delta
Comparing Signals not on the Same Screen Using Marker Delta
Measure the frequency and amplitude difference between two signals that do not
appear on the screen at one time. (This technique is useful for harmonic distortion
tests when narrow span and narrow bandwidth are necessary to measure the low
level harmonics.)
In this procedure, the analyzer 10 MHz signal is used to measure frequency and
amplitude differences between one signal on screen and one signal off screen. Delta
marker is used to demonstrate this comparison.

Step Action Notes
1 Connect the 10 MHz OUT
from the rear panel to the
front panel RF input.
2 Select the mode. Press Mode, Spectrum
Analyzer.
3 Preset the mode. Press Mode Preset.
4 Configure the analyzer
settings.
a. Press FREQ Channel,
Center Freq, 10, MHz.
b. Press SPAN X Scale, Span,
5, MHz.
c. Press AMPTD Y Scale, Ref
Level, 10, dBm.
This sets the analyzer center frequency,
span and reference level to view the 10
MHz signal and its harmonics up to 50
MHz.
