ISG (Idle Stop and Go) system
僅 The vehicle is shifted to P (Park) when
Auto Hold is activated
僅 The door is opened or the seatbelt is
unfastened when Auto Hold is acti

vated
僅 The EPB switch is pressed when Auto
Hold is activated
Condition of ISG system opera -
tion
The ISG system will operate
under the following condition:
僅 The driver’s seatbelt is fastened
僅 The driver’s door and hood are closed
僅 The brake vacuum pressure is ade
-
quate
僅 The battery sensor is activated and
the battery is sufficiently charged
僅 Outside temperature is not too low or
too high
僅 The vehicle is driven over a constant
speed and stops
僅 The climate control system satisfies
the conditions
僅 The vehicle is sufficiently warmed up
僅 The incline is gradual
僅 The steering wheel is turned less than
180 degrees and then the vehicle
stops
NOTICE
僅 If the ISG system does not meet the
operation condition, the ISG system is
deactivated. The light on the ISG OFF
button will illuminate and a message
“Auto Stop conditions not met” will
appear on the LCD display.
僅 If the light or notice comes on contin
-
uously, please check the operation
condition.
ISG system deactivation
僅 If you wish to deactivate the ISG sys -
tem, press the ISG OFF button. The
light on the ISG OFF button will illumi
-
nate.
僅 If you press the ISG OFF button again,
the system will be activated and the
light on the ISG OFF button will turn
off.
ISG system malfunction
The system may not operate
when:
The ISG related sensors or system error
occurs.
The following will happen:
僅 The yellow AUTO STOP ( ) indica -
tor on the instrument cluster will stay
on after blinking for 5 seconds.
僅 The light on the ISG OFF button will
illuminate.
NOTICE
If the ISG OFF button light is not turned
off by pressing the ISG OFF button again
or if the ISG system continuously does
not work correctly, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
