This tractor has a 12 volt nega-
tive ground starting system.
Use only the same voltage for
jump starting the tractor.
Keep all flames, sparks, and ciga-
rettes away from the battery.
If the tractors battery is frozen,
do not jump start the engine.
The use of a higher voltage sys-
tem for jump starting can cause
severe damage to the tractors
electrical system.
Use only a matching voltage
source when “Jump Starting”
a dead battery.
Do not allow battery fluid to con-
tact your skin, eyes, fabric, or
painted surfaces.
After touching a battery, do not
touch or rub your eyes. Thor-
oughly wash your hands.
If the acid contacts your body or
clothing, immediately flush with
water for at least 15 minutes and
you may see a physician, if
necessary.
JUMP STARTING
(1) Dead Battery (2) Jumper Cables
(3) Helper Battery
3. Put on safety goggles and rubber
gloves.
4. Attach the red clamp to the positive
terminal of the dead battery and at-
tach the other end to the positive ter
minal of the helper battery.
5. Clamp the black cable to the engine
lifting hook and attach the other end
to the negative terminal of the helper
battery.
6. If the helper battery is in another
vehicle, do not allow the tractor and
the other vehicle to touch. Start the
vehicle's engine after connecting the
cables and let it run for a few
moments.
7. Disconnect the battery cables in the
exact opposite order as they were
attached.
When jump starting the engine, follow
the instructions below to safely start
the engine.
1. Use a battery of the same voltage
as the disabled tractor to jump start
the tractor. Locate the good battery
in a safe place where the jumper
cables will reach.
2. Set the parking brake and turn the
start switch to off.
