Installation of KOMPAN ELEMENTS structures
These instructions describe installation of
KOMPAN FUNKY ELEMENTS structures.
IMPORTANT!
Please read these instructions before beginning installation.
In addition to these general instructions you will find assembly
instructions, isometric views, post layout drawing etc. in the
Instruction Manual.
All the packages are furnished with labels carrying reference numbers.
Use the list of packages to check that all the packages are present
before starting installation.
Then check the contents of each box using the list of contents, which
you will find inside the top of the box.

The KOMPAN ELEMENTS PLAY360 is a modular playground structure designed for playful living, offering a variety of play activities and configurations. The system utilizes rubber-coated posts, floor frames, straps, and secondary connectors as fundamental components.

Function Description:

The KOMPAN ELEMENTS PLAY360 system allows for the construction of diverse playground structures by combining various posts, floor frames, and play activities. The modular design enables customization of platform heights and activity arrangements. Installation can be either in-ground, requiring footing holes and concrete, or surface-mounted, necessitating a concrete layer for expansion bolts. The system emphasizes safety, requiring resilient surfacing and adherence to safety standards like EN 1176 (EU) or ASTM 1487 (USA).

• Material: Rubber-coated posts.
• Grooves (Rings): Moulded into the rubber layer at 100 mm intervals for precise strap and connector placement.
• Heights: Available in various heights from 400 mm to 3000 mm.

• In-ground Footing (KOMPAN ELEMENTS):
  • Components: Steel footing profile with 3 wedge grooves, 3 aluminium wedges, set screws.
  • Adjustment: Adjustable for in-ground anchoring from 70 to max. 90 cm. For up to 120 cm, A400441-99 is available.
  • Bolts: 10x20 mm button head screws (601020-A2) for securing wedges.

• Sun Orientation for Slides: Recommends orienting slides away from the midday sun to prevent overheating.
• Temporary Fastening: Bolts are to remain finger-tight until all connections are installed, allowing for adjustments to ensure the structure is plumb and level.
• C-clamp Usage: A 4" C-clamp (ill. 13) is recommended for holding new floor frames in position to avoid gaps during installation.
• Identification Labels: Packages are furnished with reference numbers, and self-adhesive numbers are provided for posts to facilitate assembly.
• Play Activity Integration: Designed to integrate various play activities, with specific installation instructions provided for each in the Instruction Manual.
• Final Inspection: A crucial step involving double-checking all fasteners, ensuring the structure is plumb and level, and confirming correct installation of panels and play activities.

Maintenance Features:

• Post Caps: Post caps (A400592-xx + A400593-xx) must be placed on all exposed post ends after final assembly and inspection to protect the posts.
• Protective Covers: All Do-Nut caps and protective covers should be installed, snapping into place, after removing all labels.
• Marking Do-Nuts: Two special marking Do-Nuts with transparent caps are supplied. One contains product reference and production date, the other is for the supplier's address label. These must be placed on the product according to EN 1176 (EU) and ASTM 1487 (USA) safety standards.
• Footing Backfill: Footing holes for posts and activities should be back-filled with compacted soil or concrete as specified in the play activity instructions.
• Protective Surfacing: Requires installation of resilient protective surfacing in accordance with safety standards (EN 1176 (EU) or ASTM 1487 (USA)).
• No Usage Until Complete: The playground must not be used until installation is complete, inspected, protective surfacing is installed, and all concrete is set.
