5.4 How to remove the device
5.4.1 General notes
De-energize the device.
Disconnect the electrical wires.
Make sure that all electrical wires are isolated from the ground.
5.4.2 Replacement of ER transmitter
You can replace the ER transmitter (EC-Type Examination Certificate INERIS 02ATEX0088 X) with
the LT40 transmitter (UK-Type Examination Certificate CSAE 21UKEX1531X). The certificate
number is shown on the device nameplate.
If you must replace this reed-chain level transmitter, send an order for the LT40 with the
appl
icable Ex approval. Record the serial number of the reed-chain level transmitter that you
will replace and send this data to your supplier.
For the removal and installation procedures, contact your supplier.
Make sure that you obey the limits of the process temperature for the bypass chamber given in
EC-Typ
e Examination Certificate INERIS 02ATEX0088 X (BM26A - first version)
5.4.3 Replacement of the first version of the LT40
You can replace the first Ex ia version of the LT40 reed-chain level transmitter (EC-Type
Examination Certificate INERIS 09ATEX0003 X) with the new LT40 transmitter (UK-Type
Exami
nation Certificate CSAE 21UKEX1531X). The certificate number is shown on the device
nameplate.
If you must replace this reed-chain level transmitter, send an order for the new Ex ia version of
the
LT40. Record the serial number of the reed-chain level transmitter that you will replace and
send this data to your supplier.
Refer to the installation procedures in the handbook. Make sure that you obey the limits of the
proc
ess temperature for the bypass chamber given in EU-Type Examination Certificate INERIS
08ATEX0044 X (BM26 Basic / Advanced).

If the device is installed in a potentially explosive atmosphere and energized, obey the
instructions that follow:

wires with the correct parameters. Refer to the intrinsically safe circuit data given on the LT40
