3.20 Mower Deck Height Calibration
WARNING!
NEVER make any adjustments to the deck height while the engine is running!
ALWAYS be sure to set the parking brake before making any adjustments to the
Lastec Mower!
Occasionally, you will need to calibrate the mower deck height. Follow these procedures to cali-
brate:
1. Park your Lastec Mower on a flat, level surface. Be
sure to turn off the engine and set the parking brake
before making any adjustments to your Lastec
Mower.
2. Be sure both rear drive tires are properly inflated to
18 PSI and the front tires are inflated to 12 PSI. Be
sure all wheels are pointing forward.
3. Set the deck height adjustment arm to 2-1/2”
4. Start with the center deck. Measure the front edge of
the deck pan from the bottom of the pan to the floor.
Take measurements across the front of the deck.
They should all measure 2”, +/- 1/8”.
5. Level the deck height by tightening or loosening the adjustment nuts on the deck suspen-
sion assemblies at the front of the deck. The rear suspension assemblies have been set
at the factory.
6.When the front edge of the deck pan is within
tolerance, adjust the rear of the center deck by
adjusting the link rod jam nut.
7.Measure the difference between the front and
rear of the deck pan. It should be as close to
level as possible. A difference of 1/8 inch HIGH
in the rear is acceptable.
8.Adjust each side deck to correspond to the
center deck by adjusting the link rods connecting
the deck and the link rods within the height adjustment arm.
