1 INTRODUCTION
The LELY SPLENDIMO M mower (fig. 1) can be used for mowing
grass fields. A characteristic feature of the SPLENDIMO M mower
is the central attachment of the mower unit allowing optimum
ground contour following.
A tremendous capacity can be realised thanks to the large working
width and high forward speed (up to 15 km/h).
Mowing on slopes up to approx. 20° up and 20° down is within the
machines capability.
The cutter bar is fitted with mower discs, complete with the LELY
SPLENDIMO CLIP quick change system (fig. 2). The cutter bar is
composed of cutting units according to the modular LELY system.
These elements as well as the intermediate spacers are torqued
together by a connecting rod.
The first cutting unit is driven from the top. A springsteel shaft,
which is driven from the first cutting unit, drives the other units of
the cutter bar. Due to this configuration, only little power is
required.
The elements rotate in pairs, either to the left or right.
The SPLENDIMO M mower can be controlled with just one
hydraulic ram. Ground pressure can be adjusted in 3 positions by
repositioning the stop plate of the spring assembly.
A breakback device prevents damage to the machine if an obstacle
is hit.
