4 MACHINE ADJUSTMENTS
Put the machine into the working position as follows:
- Pull up the locking hook of the hydraulic ram for a moment and
lower the cutterbar carefully by means of the ram.
Make sure that the abutment pins on the ram are positioned in the
slotted holes of the locking hook (fig. 6).
- Adjust the tractor hitch in such a way that the hinge pin of the
main shaft has a height of 52 cm over ground level (fig. 6). Take
tractor wheelings into account.
Check if the mower headstock remains level width-wise. If
necessary, adjust the adjustment of the tractor lever arms.
Limit a downward movement with, for example, the help of the
stabilisation chains if it is impossible to maintain the adjusted
height of the tractor hitch.
This adjustment of the tractor’s 3 point hitch is essential to
achieve optimum ground following of the mower.
- Make sure that the mower's break back device is in the correct
position and that the machine is positioned straight next to the
tractor.
Lift the mower up to the headland position to push the break back
device into the starting position.
4.1 Mowing height
- Adjust the mowing height by adjusting the forward inclination of
the cutter bar with the aid of the top link (fig. 7).
4.2 Ground pressure
The ground pressure of the SPLENDIMO M mower is set with the
mechanical ground pressure relief system using a tension spring.
If, during operations, the mower has a tendency to float, which
inhibits proper ground contour following, then the traction force of
the spring (= ground pressure relief) should be adjusted at a lower
level.
- Set the ground pressure using the stop plate (fig. 8). The
uppermost hole indicates the lowest ground pressure, the lower
hole the highest ground pressure.
