• Install memory modules in the alphabetic order as shown.

To remove or install a memory module, do the following:
1. Prepare your computer. See “Preparing your computer” on page 54.
2. Locate the memory slots. See “Parts on the system board” on page 6.
3. Remove any parts that might prevent your access to the memory slots. Depending on your computer
model, you might need to remove the PCIe x16 graphics card for easier access to the memory slots. See
“PCIe card” on page 56.
4. To remove a memory module, open the retaining clips and gently pull the memory module out of the
memory slot.
