•Youcanuserecoverymediatorestorethecomputertothefactorydefaultsettingsonly.Youcanuse
recoverymediatoputthecomputerinanoperationalstateafterallothermethodsofrecoveryhavefailed.
Attention:Whenyouuserecoverymediatorestorethecomputertothefactorydefaultsettings,allthe
filescurrentlyontheharddiskdrive,hybriddrive,orsolid-statedrivewillbedeletedandreplacedby
thefactorydefaultsettings.
Touserecoverymedia,dothefollowing:
1.Dependingonthetypeofyourrecoverymedia,connectthebootmedium(memorykeyorotherUSB
storagedevice)tothecomputer,orinsertthebootdiscintotheexternalopticaldrive.
2.RepeatedlypressandreleasetheF12keywhenturningonthecomputer.WhentheBootMenu
windowopens,releasetheF12key.
3.SelectthedesiredstartupdeviceandpressEnter.Therestoreprocessbegins.
4.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentocompletetheoperation.

1.Afterrestoringyourcomputertothefactorydefaultsettings,youmighthavetoreinstalldevicedrivers

settings.YoucandesignatewheretheRescueandRecoveryprogramstoresthebackup:
•Inaprotectedareaofyourharddiskdrive,hybriddrive,orsolid-statedrive
•Onthesecondaryharddiskdrive,hybriddrive,orsolid-statedriveifasecondaryharddiskdrive,hybrid
drive,orsolid-statedriveisinstalledinyourcomputer
•OnanattachedexternalUSBharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive
•Onanetworkdrive
•Onrecordablediscs(arecordableexternalopticaldriveisrequiredforthisoption)
Afteryouhavebackedupthecontentsontheharddiskdrive,youcanrestorethecompletecontentsof
theharddiskdrive,hybriddrive,orsolid-statedriverestoreonlytheselectedfiles,orrestoreonlythe
Windowsoperatingsystemandapplications.

1.FromtheWindowsdesktop,clickStart➙AllPrograms➙LenovoPCExperience➙LenovoTools➙
EnhancedBackupandRestore.TheRescueandRecoveryprogramopens.
2.IntheRescueandRecoverymainwindow,clicktheLaunchadvancedRescueandRecoveryarrow.
3.ClickBackupyourharddriveandselectbackupoperationoptions.Then,followtheinstructionson
thescreentocompletethebackupoperation.
