Thissectionprovidesinformationabouttherecoverysolutions.
Refreshingyourtablet
Ifyourtabletdoesnotperformwellandtheproblemmightbecausedbyarecentlyinstalledprogram,you
canrefreshyourtabletwithoutlosingyourpersonalfilesorchangingyoursettings.
Attention:Ifyourefreshyourtablet,theprogramsthatcamewithyourtabletandtheprogramsthatyou
installedfromWindowsStorewillbereinstalled,butallotherprogramswillberemoved.
Torefreshyourtablet,dothefollowing:
•Windows8:
1.Swipeinfromtherightedgeofthescreentodisplaythecharms.
2.TaptheSettingscharm.
3.TapChangePCsettings.
4.TapGeneral.
5.IntheRefreshyourPCwithoutaffectingyourfilessection,tapGetstarted.
•Windows8.1:
1.Swipeinfromtherightedgeofthescreentodisplaythecharms.
2.TaptheSettingscharm.
3.TapChangePCsettings.
4.TapUpdateandrecovery,andthentapRecovery.
5.IntheRefreshyourPCwithoutaffectingyourfilessection,tapGetstarted.
Restoringyourtablettothefactorydefaultstate
Youcanrestoreyourtablettothefactorydefaultstate.Restorethetabletreinstallstheoperatingsystem,
programs,andsettingsthatcamewithyourtablet.
Attention:Whenyourestoreyourtablet,allyourpersonalfilesandsettingsaredeleted.Toavoiddataloss,
makeabackupcopyofallthedatathatyouwanttokeepbeforeyourestoreyourtablet.
Toresetyourtablet,doonethefollowing:
•UsingaUSBrecoverykeyprovidedbyLenovo(32GBmodelsonly):
1.Turnoffthetablet,waitforaboutfiveseconds,andtheninserttheUSBrecoverykeyintotheUSB
connectorofyourtablet.
2.Pressandholdthepowerbuttontogetherwiththevolumeupbuttonatthesametimetoenter
theThinkPadSetupprogram.
3.OntheBootsubmenu,selectCD/DVD:GenericMassStorage,andthentap“+/–”untilthe
CD/DVD:GenericMassStorageisshownasthefirststartupdevice.
4.InserttheUSBrecoverykeyintotheUSBconnectorofyourtablet.
5.TapF10tosavetheconfigurationchangeandexitThinkPadSetup.Thetabletrestartsandthe
recoveryprogramopens.
6.Dependingonyourneeds,selectthelanguageyoupreferinthedrop-downlistbox.ClickNext.
