ToinstalltheMicrosoftWindowsSmallBusinessServer2011Essentialsoperatingsystem,dothefollowing:

1.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetastheﬁrststartup

device.ConnecttheUSBstoragedevicethatcontainstherequireddrivertoyourserver.Then,startthe

serverfromtheopticaldrive.

Note:IfthemessagePressanykeytobootfromcdisdisplayed,pressanykey.IfthemessageWindows

Setup[EMSEnabled]isdisplayed,pressEnter.

2.IntheInstallingWindowswindow,selectNewInstallation.

Note:Ifyourserveralreadyhasanoperatingsysteminstalled,anotheroptionRepairanExisting

Installationalsoisdisplayed.ThefollowingstepsarebasedonthescenariothatNewInstallationis

selectedinthisstep.

3.ClickLoaddriversandgotothefolderwherethedriverisstored.ClickOKtoloadthedrivers.

4.SelectIunderstandthatifIclickInstall,allﬁlesandfoldersonyourprimaryharddrivewillbe

deleted.Then,clickInstalltostarttheoperatingsysteminstallation.TheInstallWindowswindowis

displayed.Waitforamoment.

5.WhenthemessageErrorsoccurredduringinstallationisdisplayed,connecttheUSBstoragedevice

thatcontainsthedriverfortheEthernetcardtoyourserver.PressShift+F10,inputthecommand

devmgmt.msc,andthenpressEnter.

6.IntheDeviceManagerwindow,clickotherdevices,andthenright-clickEthernetController.

7.ClickUpdateDriverSoftware➙Browsemycomputerfordriversoftware.

8.Gotothefolderwherethedriverisstored,andthenclickNext.

9.Inthe“UpdateDriverSoftware-Intel...Connection”window,clickClose.Gobacktothecommand

windowandcloseit.

10.Gobacktothe“Errorsoccurredduringinstallation”window,andclickRestarttorestartyourserver.
