8.IntheNetworkCardSetupwindow,selectStaticallyassignedIPAddressandconfigurethesettings
asyouneed.Then,clickNext.
9.ConfigureotherEthernetcardsifneeded.ClickOKtocompletetheEthernetcardconfiguration.
IfyouareinstallingtheSUSELinuxEnterpriseServer11(x64)operatingsystemwithServicePack2,you
alsoneedtoinstallthedriverforthevirtualkernel.Toinstallthedriverforthevirtualkernel,dothefollowing:
1.CopythedriverforthevirtualkernelfromtheThinkServerEasyStartupDVDtoyourUSBstoragedevice
andconnecttheUSBstoragedevicetoyourserver.
2.LogintotheoperatingsystemandcopythefolderfromyourUSBstoragedevicetothe/tmpdirectory
onyourserver.
3.Right-clickthetmpfolderandselectOpeninTerminal.TheTerminalwindowisdisplayed.
4.Typethefollowingcommandsintothetextboxtoinstallthedriver.
cd/tmp
cdinstall
rpm–ivhlsi-megasr-kmp-xen-15.02.2013.0414-1_3.0.13-0.27 .x86_64.rpm
Note:Inthecommandlines,lsi-megasr-kmp-xen-15.02.2013.0414-1_3.0.13-0.27.x86_64represents
thenameofthedriverfile.Usethecorrespondingfilenameonyourserver.
5.Restartyourserverandlogintothevirtualkernelaftertheinstallationprocessiscompleted.

ServicePack3
ThistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstalltheSUSELinuxEnterpriseServer11(x64orx86)operating
systemwithServicePack3.
Note:ThemaximumsystemmemorythattheSUSELinuxEnterpriseServer11(x86)operatingsystem
cansupportis16GB.
ToinstalltheSUSELinuxEnterpriseServer11(x64orx86)operatingsystemwithServicePack3,do
thefollowing:
1.DownloadthedriverforonboardSASsoftwareRAIDfromtheLenovoWebsitetoyourserver.Themost
up-to-datedevicedriversforvariousservermodelsarealwaysavailableontheLenovoWebsiteat:
http://www.lenovo.com/drivers
2.CopythedriverforonboardSASsoftwareRAIDtoaUSBstoragedevice.ConnecttheUSBstorage
devicetoyourserver.
3.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetasthefirststartup
device.Then,starttheserverfromtheopticaldrive.
4.Inthe“SUSELinuxEnterpriseServerWelcome”window,pressF6andselectYes.
5.Typebrokenmodules=isciandselectInstallation.Then,pressEnter.
