Youcaninstallorreplaceahot-swapsolid-statedrivewithoutturningofftheserver,whichhelpsyouavoid
significantinterruptiontotheoperationofthesystem.
TheEMIintegrityandcoolingoftheserverareprotectedbyhavingalldrivebayscoveredoroccupied.The
numberoftheinstalledharddiskdrivesorsolid-statedrivesinyourservervariesdependingontheserver
model.Thevacantbaysareoccupiedbydummyhard-disk-drivetrays.Whenyouinstallahot-swaphard
diskdriveorsolid-statedrive,savetheremoveddummyhard-disk-drivetrayfromthedrivebayincaseyou
laterremovethehot-swapharddiskdriveorsolid-statedriveandneedthedummytraytocovertheplace.
Attention:AnunoccupieddrivebaywithoutanyotherprotectionmightimpacttheEMIintegrityandcooling
oftheserver,whichmightresultinoverheatingorcomponentdamage.TomaintaintheEMIintegrityand
coolingoftheserver,installanewhot-swapharddiskdriveorsolid-statedriveassoonasyouremovethe
failingoneorthedummytray.

•Forsolid-statedriveswithdifferentcapacities,installthesolid-statedrivebyfollowingtheorderofthe
hard-disk-drivebaysaswellastheorderfromthelowestcapacitytothehighestcapacity.
