Toreplacethesystemboardbattery,dothefollowing:
Note:Afteryoureplacethesystemboardbattery,youmustresetpasswords,resetsystemdateandtime,
andreconfiguretheserver.
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Iftheserverisinstalledinarackcabinet,removetheserverfromtherackcabinetandplaceitonaflat,
clean,andstatic-protectivesurface.SeetheRackInstallationInstructionsthatcomeswiththeserver.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage77.
4.Locatethesystemboardbattery.See“Systemboardcomponents”onpage46.
Note:IfthereisanyPCIExpresscardinstalledontherisercardassembly1,itmightblockyouraccess
tothesystemboardbattery.Inthiscase,youneedtoremovethecoolingshroudandthencarefully
lifttherisercardassembly1upsothatyoucanaccessthesystemboardbattery.Youdonotneedto
disconnectanycablesfromtherisercardassembly1orcompletelyremovetherisercardassembly1.
