ThischapterdescribeshowtousetheSetupUtilityprogramtoconguretheremotemanagementmodule
fromtheun-conguredstatustotherunningstatus.ItisrecommendedthatyoumanuallysetastaticIP
addressintheSetupUtilityprogram.
TosetanIPaddress,dothefollowing:
1.Connecttheservertoaworkingelectricaloutletandturnontheserverbypressingthepowerbutton.
2.PressF2assoonasyouseethelogoscreen.TheSetupUtilityprogramopens.Ifyouhavesetan
administratorpassword,youmusttypetheadministratorpasswordtoaccessthefullSetupUtility
programmenu.WhenworkingwiththeSetupUtilityprogram,youmustusethekeyboard.Thekeys
usedtoperformvarioustasksaredisplayedatthebottomofeachscreen.
3.Fromthemainmenu,selectServerManagement➙BMCLANConguration.RefertoTable1“BMC
LANConguration”onpage5forinformationaboutthesubitems.
4.UnderIntel(R)RMM3LANconguration,makesurethestatusoftheIntelRMM3isPresent.Then
youcanchooseStaticorDHCPtosettheIPaddressfromtheIPsourceoption.Itisrecommended
thatyoumanuallysetastaticIPaddress.
Note:TheRMM3IPaddressmustbeonadifferentsubnetfromthebaseboardIPaddressusedfor
managementtrafc.
5.UnderUserconguration,youcansettheuserIDanduserpassword.Forexample:
UserID:root
Userpassword:superuser
6.Whenyounishtheconguration,pressF10tosaveandexit.
