Solving General Printing Problems
Problem
The printer does not
print. (continued)
Printer selects print
media from the wrong
print media source.
Print media does not
feed into the printer.
Print job is extremely
slow.
Possible Cause
The printer may be
configured incorrectly.
The printer driver may be
installed incorrectly.
The printer is
malfunctioning.
The print media source
selection in the printer
properties may be
incorrect.
Print media has not been
loaded correctly.
There is too much print
media in the input tray.
The print media is too
thick.
The job may be very
complex.
If using Windows 95, the
Spooling Setting may be
set incorrectly.
Solution
Check the printer properties to make sure
that all print settings are correct.
Uninstall the printer driver, and then
reinstall the printer driver, see “Installing
the Printer Software” on page 2.9. Try
printing a demo page, see “Printing a
Demo Page!” on page 2.8.
Check the lights on the control panel to
determine if the printer is indicating a
system error.
For many software applications, the print
media source selection is found under the
tab within the printer properties. Select
the correct print media source.
Remove print media from the input tray
and reload it correctly, see “Loading Print
Media” on page 2.5.
Remove excess print media from the
input tray.
Use only print media that meets the
specifications required by the printer.
Reduce the complexity of the page or try
adjusting the print quality settings.
From the Start menu, choose Settings
and Printers. Right-click the Lexmark
E210 printer icon, choose Properties,
click the Details tab, and then choose the
Spool Settings button. Select the spool
setting you want from the available
choices.
