B13. CHECK WINDSHIELD WIP-
ERS AND WASHERS
With the engine switch in the "IG-ON" mode:
Front wiper
a ) Push the lever toward you and check
that washer fluid squirts onto the proper
area of the windshield and that wipers
are activated. Wipers will make one ad-
ditional pass after a 3-second delay.
Wash/wipe operation
b ) Check wiper speed operation on mist, in-
termittent, low and high cycles. Check
that the wiper blades wipe off the washer
fluid cleanly.
Rain-sensing wiper operation
Low speed wiper operation
High speed wiper operation
Temporary operation
c ) The wipers should not make any abnor-
mal noise when operating.
d ) With the wiper switch lever in the auto
position, splash the water on the wind-
shield around the windshield sensor and
check that the wipers operate.
NOTE:
• The sensitivity of the sensor can be ad-
justed by turning the knob.
• Add washer fluid up to the proper level.
Rear wiper
a ) Twist the knob at the end of the lever and
check that washer fluid squirts onto the
proper area of the glass.
b ) Check wiper speed operation on inter-
mittent and normal cycles. Check that
the wiper blade wipes off the washer flu-
id cleanly.

c ) The wiper should not make any abnor-
mal noise when operating.
NOTE:
Add washer fluid up to the proper level.
