Safety belt pretensioner and SRS air
bag may not work at the same time in
a crash with certain speed and angle.
SRS warn ing la mp is lighte d when turn in g
the ig nitio n key to “ON”, and th en it
goes out afte r about 5s, which in dic ate s
the fr ont safe ty belt pretensio ner work s
norm all y.
The warning la mp system is to monito r th e air
bag ECU, safe ty belt prete nsio ner assembly,
air chargin g device, warnin g lamp, wirin g and
power supply (See Sectio n 1- 5 “Main tenance
Indicator and Warnin g Buzzer”fo r detail ).
The fr ont safe ty belt pretensioner syste m
includes th e foll owing assemblies, whose
positio ns are shown in th e above fig ure.
The fr ont safety belt prete nsio ner assembly
is controlle d by air bag ECU.。
When th e fro nt safe ty belt pre tensioner in
opera ti on,

and a bit of smoke lik e gas will be given out.
This gas is harmle ss and does not mean a
fir e as well .
Warning
The fr ont safety belt pretensio ner assembly,
air bag sensor or its surrounding wirin g is not
allowed to be retr ofitte d, removed, knocked or
opened. Oth erwise, it will result in a sudden
operatio n of the fr ont safety belt prete nsio ner
or cause an ineffe ctiv e system, and fin ally
cause an accident.

Any of the follo wing alteration is not allo wed
before consultin g the personnel at
service station . Such alteratio n may
influence the normal operatio n of the front
safety belt pretensio ner under some
circumstances.

● Repair on or near the fro nt fender,
front stru cture or bracket.
Once th e fr ont safety belt prete nsioner is
work ing, safe ty belt retr acto r will be kept
under its locking sta te.
The mainten an ce indica tor in the front sa fety
belt preten si on er sy stem is us ed to ind icate
the op er at ion trou bl e driver.
Any of the followi ng si tua tion s ind ica tes
the ab no rmal ity of ai r ba g or pr eten si on er.
Repa ir the ve hi cl e at se rvice station at
once in ca se of such situa tion.

or kept on when turning the ignition key to
“ON”.
