CAUTION!!!
Be sure to relieve all pressure on the system before installing the ETVC.
10.1 INSTALLATION OF STRAINER COVER MOUNTED THERMOWELLS
q Remove the old cover from
the strainer.
q While the cover is off,
remove the strainer basket,
clean it thoroughly, and then
reinstall it.
q Lightly coat the new cover
O-ring with grease and place
in position on the strainer.
q Bolt the strainer cover in
place, ensuring that the
weights and measures
thermowell tip points
downwards in the strainer.
q On some cover castings the
designation “this side up” or
an arrow is cast in the cover
to indicate the proper
orientation.
q The weights and measures
thermowell will be filled with
appropriate oil at the time of
inspection. Until then, coat the
supplied 3/8-inch NPT pipe plug with
thread sealant and thread it into the
hole.
