WARNING: Do not place the BATTERY select
switch in the NiMH position if you are using any
type of battery other than Nickel Metal Hydride
batteries. The NiMH position will attempt to
charge the batteries. Charging non-NiMH
batteries can result in physical harm, destruction
of property and/or fire.
Set SQ Switch.
See “What is SQ?” on Page 2. The SQ switch is
located next to the BATTERY select switch (see
diagram below, left). Your receiver has been shipped
with the SQ switch in the ON position. If other
receivers in your system do not have SQ, or if your
transmitter does not have SQ, you will need to turn
this feature off. Use a screwdriver or pen to slide the
switch to the OFF position.
Place Batteries in Unit.
Place two AA batteries in the compartment, making
note of the battery polarity, and verifying that the
BATTERY select switch is in the correct position for
the type of batteries you are using.
Connect an Earphone or Headset to the Unit.
Your headset or earphone will connect to the jack on
the top of the unit. Either mono or stereo connectors
may be used with a Listen receiver. Make sure you
push the plug all the way into the jack.
Turn the Receiver On.
Receivers are turned on by rotating the volume knob
counterclockwise. The red LED on top of the unit
should activate and, on the LR-400 and LR-500, the
LCD display should illuminate. If they do not, make
sure you have installed the batteries correctly and
that you are using fully charged batteries.
