User Guide MeeBox NAS
Accessing your MeeBox remotely
If you set up your router to forward certain ports to your MeeBox, you can access your
MeeBox’s files, and some of its services, from remote locations over the Internet.
Setting up port forwarding on your router
Before you can access your MeeBox NAS from the Internet, you must set up your router to
forward certain ports to the MeeBox. Once you do this, you will be able to access your
MeeBox from outside your local network by using your public IP address.
The ports that need to be forwarded to your MeeBox for various services to work over the
Internet are given in the following table. You do not need to forward every port listed
below, just the ports for the services you will use. Please refer to your router’s
documentation for instructions on forwarding ports to a device on your network.
