6.10. How to check the isolation of the motor
Different to the motor phase measurement it is important to use an isolation test device. This
device can measure the resistance at a high voltage level.
• Configure your isolation measuring
device:
o Choose isolation –
measurement at 1000V
o Test prods into its provided
sockets (black to COM & red
to Ω)
• The measurement is easier and safer
by using those crocodile clips
• Connect the measuring clips to the
motor phases (3 different steps – L1
to GND, L2 to GND and L3 to GND)
The value should not be below 0,5 MΩ.
