14 If the vehicle is
model year 2006
or newer, select

Selection, then
select ABS or
Engine
Management
Controller.
15 Ensure the
vehicle's ignition
is ON.
The ignition
may time out on
older vehicles.
16 Select Read
DTCs.
Did DTCs read
successfully?
System is
functioning
correctly.
1. Is there another
Diagnostic Tool available
to check the same
system?
2. Is there a similar
model year vehicle
available to check
against?
1. If no
alternatives are
available, you
can retry by
starting from
Step 1.
2. If another
vehicle is
available, then
return to the
Vehicle Type
menu and start
from Step 10
after plugging
the Diagnostic
Tool into the
second vehicle.
A successful
read on a
second, similar
vehicle usually
indicates an
issue with the
first vehicle.
