2 System Description
2.1 System Overview
SolsTiS is a widely tuneable, CW narrow linewidth laser, designed for use with
a wide range of pump lasers. The pump laser may be integrated with or
separate from the SolsTiS laser head, depending on the pump laser model.
The SolsTiS laser head incorporates a unique sealed, maintenance- and
alignment-free automated design, and neither the SolsTiS laser head nor its
‘ICE-BLOC’ electronics control unit contain any user-serviceable parts.
SolsTiS’ ultra-compact design also provides extremely low noise performance,
simplified wavelength tuning and (if included) simplified frequency scanning.
Further, SolsTiS also incorporates a unique, proprietary onboard ‘WSD’
wavelength monitor that provides the user with a readout via the UI of
SolsTiS’ output wavelength to a precision of typically <0.2nm, removing the
need for a dedicated external spectrometer. SolsTiS’ design brings
unprecedented ease of installation and use to this type of laser.
SolsTiS generates CW continuously tuneable output over a wide range of
near-IR wavelengths, with a wide range of linewidth, tuning range and output
power (pump power) options available. In addition, SolsTiS can be pumped by
a wide range of third-party pump lasers, and is available in unique 3-12W
integrated pump laser packages (please inquire). Optional
accessories include: compact, high-efficiency, ‘ECD’ harmonic
generators modules that extend SolsTiS into the visible or UV, and
configuring of SolsTiS for locking to an external, third party
wavemeter (for use, for example, as an absolute frequency
reference).

regulatory design & safety standards declared within this
manual only if configured as described in this manual.
Separating the SolsTiS and pump laser heads or placing any
controller >2m from the laser heads is prohibited, may lead to
safety hazards, and will void your warranty.
Caution! Please refer to the manual accompanying your
pump laser for all precautions, safety, operating and
maintenance instructions of your pump laser system.
