5.3 Storing User Settings
To store settings on the UI control page permanently (even after prime power
to the system has been switched off) press the Save Data button.
5.4 Shutting Down the SolsTiS Laser System
After you have finished using SolsTiS, shut down the system by following
instructions in the pump laser operator’s manual, and deactivating the chiller
approximately 10-15 minutes after deactivating the pump laser.
5.5 Purging SolsTiS
Warning! If purging of your SolsTiS laser head is
required, before attempting to perform purging, please
contact M Squared Lasers or your authorized
representative for guidance (e.g., suitable purge gas
and gas filtration). Incorrect purge technique could
potentially result in damage to your system.
The SolsTiS laser head includes purge gas input and output ports in case gas
purging of the head is required. This may be required if, for example, the user
wishes to operate SolsTiS at or in the vicinity of highly absorbing atmospheric
water vapour absorption lines. With its unique sealed laser head, SolsTiS is
far less likely to require gas purging than more conventional, open
architecture systems. Furthermore, SolsTiS’ unique alignment-free design
removes the need to open the cavity, which would otherwise result in a loss of
purge gas and the need for time-consuming re-purging of the head. In
addition, SolsTiS’ unique miniaturized head design, and associated small
head volume, requires a relatively small amount of purge gas and gas flow
rate to expunge any atmospheric water vapour, which is less likely to perturb
the optical performance of the laser compared to much larger head designs.
Dry Nitrogen (Oxygen free) with a purity of 99.998% minimum is
recommended. When beginning the purging process, use a flow
rate of 1L/min for initial clean, then reduce the flow rate to
>0.1L/min.
Your SolsTiS laser head may incorporate one of two types of purge
gas nozzle: either self-sealing green (input) and red (output)
nozzles that automatically open if subjected to gas pressure above
a certain pressure threshold; or (later models), manually sealed
input and output valves that accept 1/8” push fit tubing.
Ensure that clean tubes are used when purging the SolsTiS.
