> Activate the chain brake (2) whilst the engine is running by
moving your left hand forward against the chain brake (2). The
saw chain (3) should stop immediately.
NOTE: The chain will not start if the chain brake is in the
engaged position.
DO NOT accelerate the engine for more than 10 seconds
when the chain brake (11) is in engaged position (Fig.22),
as the chain brake system inside may damage the
machine.
WARNING! If the saw chain fails to stop when the
chain brake is engaged, take the product to the nearest
authorised dealer or service centre! Do not use the
product if the chain brake is not working properly!

Starting
NOTE: The machine is equipped with a device (easy
starter) that allows an easy start.
This device changes the method of pulling the recoil
starter handle.
The rst part of the cord stroke serves to pre-charge the
device while the starting force develops towards the end
of the stroke.
> Make sure the safety chain brake is
engaged by pushing the front guard
(2) fully forwards. (See above, page
31).
The saw chain will not start if the
chain brake is in the engaged
position.
> Ensure the saw chain (3) does not
come into contact with anything
before starting the engine.
> Set the ignition switch (24) to
position “I” (Fig. 24).
