Shifting gears
The MT is equipped with an automatic transmission, which
has four forward and one reverse gear.
In the driving gear drive (normal operation) the transmission
shifts automatically from the first to the fourth gear.
You will find information on shifting in section “Operating panel
for automatic transmission” on page 65.
To adapt to unusual terrain such as steep slopes or extreme
inclines, additional lower or higher driving ranges can be se-
lected.
CAUTION!
Material damages!
Operating errors can damage your MT.
X Apply the parking brake only when the MT is at
standstill.
X Shift into neutral N only when the MT is standing and
applied parking brake or main brake.
X Change the driving direction forwards or reverse only
when the MT is standing still and the motor is at idle
speed.
X Always shift into neutral position N before switching
off the motor.
WARNING!
Accident hazard!
Uncontrolled rolling MT can seriously injure persons.
X Do not let the MT roll in neutral position.
X Always shift into neutral before exiting the MT and
apply the parking brake.
X Never let the motor run more than five minutes when
the MT is at standstill. Apply the main brake or the
parking brake and shift the transmission into neutral
position.
