HANDLING
DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS
104 Operating Manual MT 25 / 30 YT
z Make sure that the total weight of the trailer and the bear-
ing load on the fifth wheel coupling does not exceed the
maximum permissible values.
z Make sure that trailers with tow bars are only drawn if the
trailer couplings are designed for this.
Driving on ramps and inclines
DANGER!
Accident hazard!
When driving on ramps and inclines the MT can tip or
slide and thus get out of control.
X Drive up or down ramps and inclines only that are
signposted as traffic routes and that can be
negotiated safely.
X Be sure that the ground is sufficiently clean and
provides enough traction. Take special care on snow
and ice.
X The vehicle must be driven at reduced speed on
inclines.
X Drive carefully when crossing steep inclines.

z
With coupled load, drive uphill with the load in front
if possible (pushing).
z When driving down hill drive with the tractor in front.
If, for operational reasons, it is necessary to drive on inclines
in directions other than those described above, always ob-
serve the following instructions:
z Avoid accelerating and braking suddenly.
z Lift the fifth wheel coupling only as far as is necessary
to ensure sufficient ground clearance.
z In borderline cases, additional technical measures are
necessary: e.g. adding ballast to the front axle,
using a telescopic fifth wheel.
