Operating manual MT 32 / 36 111
Driving with four-wheel-drive
When driving on slippery surfaces or steep inclines or slopes,
shift to four-wheel drive to increase the MT’s traction. The
drive force is transmitted by the four-wheel drive to both axes.
The four-wheel drive can be enabled temporarily or perma-
nently, see “Four-wheel drive (switchable) <Fahrt schaltbar>”
on page 66.
CAUTION!
Transmission damage!
Tension in drive train.
The drive train can become damaged if you constantly
drive on rough surfaces.
X Use the four-wheel drive only while driving on slip-
pery surfaces or for initiating movement under diffi-
cult circumstances.
X Switch off the four-wheel drive while driving on rough
surfaces that do not require it.
X Do not shift into four-wheel drive while the rear
wheels are slipping.
Towing
Tow the MT only in case of an emergency. It is not possible
to clutch start the engine.
For more information on towing, refer to chapter
„SELF-HELP“.
