14. What is the dierence between Virtual Read and Real Read?
These two operations can only be performed via OBD connection.
Virtual read:
Through this operation, the Software will access the internal database of original les
directly.
The search for the virtual read le relies on the software version and on the software
update of the control unit for which the identier has been previously set (through a
special function in the software) that precisely shows these parameters in the GUI. The
downloaded le is a 100% original le.
When this option is available, it is always recommended to work using the virtual le.
- Real read:
The software will carry out a real read of the ECU content, whether it is original or
not. In the event that it is necessary to work with an original le, you can request
the original le through the MMS Helpdesk with the use of the appropriate “Request
Original File” Ticket.
15. How can I request an original le?
Log in to the MMS Helpdesk and access the Ticket> Create New> Original le request
section.
Fill out the form to open the Ticket:
1. Title: Specify the details of the vehicle or ECU/TCU for which the original le is
requested.
2. Send a screenshot of the identication provided by FLEX;
3. File read: the le read by the control unit which is supposed to be non-original. The
read le is the safest means of nding the information needed to recover the original
le.
NB: The le must be plaintext, NOT encrypted.
