Go to Step 3
 Connect the smart tester
 Turn the ignition ON
 Initialize the diagnostic tool
 Record the DTC and clear
 Turn ignition OFF
 Turn ignition ON
 Verify if P1792 or P1791 is
present
Is P1792 or P1791 present?
YES
NO
 Turn ignition ON
 Check the voltage between
brake switch connector pin 1
and battery negative
Step 1
 Clear the error codes
and verify
Go to Step 5
YES
Is the voltage
12Volts?
NO
Go to Step 4
Is the voltage
12 Volts?
Step 2
 Turn ignition ON
 ECU connector
DISCONNECTED
 Brake switch
connector
CONNECTED
 Press the brake pedal
and check the
voltage between pin
80 of the ECU
connector and battery
negative
YES
NO
Go to Step 3
 Connect the smart tester
 Turn the ignition ON
 Initialize the diagnostic tool
 Record the DTC and clear
 Turn ignition OFF
 Turn ignition ON
 Verify if P1792 or P1791 is
present
Is P1792 or P1791 present?
YES
NO
 Turn ignition ON
 Check the voltage between
brake switch connector pin 1
and battery negative
Step 1
 Clear the error codes
and verify
Go to Step 5
YES
Is the voltage
12Volts?
NO
Go to Step 4
Is the voltage
12 Volts?
Step 2
 Turn ignition ON
 ECU connector
DISCONNECTED
 Brake switch
connector
CONNECTED
 Press the brake pedal
and check the
voltage between pin
80 of the ECU
connector and battery
negative
YES
NO
