AIR TEMPEARTURE SENSOR
COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
The Air temperature sensor (ATS) is located in below the front panel assembly near the air intake duct . The sensor
uses a thermistor which is sensitive to the change in temperature. The thermistor resistance changes as the
temperature of the atmosphere air near the sensor changes. i.e Negative temperature co-efficient type. The ECU
checks ATS voltage and uses the information to smoothen the engine operation
COMPONENT LOCATION

P1633 Ambient air temperature sensor voltage above upper limit
2
P1634 Ambient air temperature sensor voltage below lower limit
NORMAL OPERATION
The ECU supplies a reference voltage to the Ambient air temperature sensor. The Ambient air temperature
sensor converts the atmospheric temperature to a voltage and sends as an output. The ECU checks whether
the voltage is within the specified range.
Reference Voltage - 5V± 0.15
