ACCELERATOR PEDAL MODULE 1
COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
The Accelerator pedal module is installed at the upper end of the accelerator pedal assembly. The APM sensor
detects the accelerator position and sends a voltage signal to the ECU.
Accelerator pedal module has two sensors. These sensors are of variable resistance potentiometers type whose
resistance changes according to the pedal position. The ECU supplies a reference voltage to the APM sensor and
measures the output voltage from the APM sensor circuit. The ECU uses the APM sensor signal values for further
calculation of fueling & other engine operational parameters

NORMAL OPERATION
The ECU supplies a reference voltage of 3.25 ±0.25 V for C04 ECU and 5±0.25V to the APP 1 sensor and then
measures the voltage that is present on the APP 1 sensor output signal circuit. In normal operation, the sensor output
voltage varies from 0 to 3.25 V for C04 and 0 to 5.25V for C55. In addition, the ECU ensures that the voltage
output does not become too large while the engine is in idling.
