18.5 Driving in or on Snow or Ice
Be aware that snow cover may hide obstacles like holes and logs
that can affect the ROXOR's traction and stability.
Before driving on frozen waterways, check the ice thickness to
ensure it will safely support the weight of the ROXOR.
Always keep controls, pedals and floor board free of snow and
ice to prevent loss of control.
Slow down and avoid abrupt steering and throttle inputs to
prevent sliding and roll overs.
Use lower gears and/or 4WD Low Range to help prevent tire
spin.
Be aware that it may take longer to stop your ROXOR, be
cautious and avoid locking the brakes.
To prevent snow and ice accumulation on brake pads and discs,
which may affect the response time of the braking system,
periodically apply the brakes.
18.6 Driving on Hills and Slopes
Avoid parking on slopes, if unavoidable, put the shift lever in
gear, set the parking brake and block the tires.
Approach the tops of hills with caution to avoid a collision with
vehicles coming from the other direction.
It may be necessary to check the terrain conditions on the
opposite side of a hill before proceeding because the ROXOR
can ascend steeper slopes than it can descend.
Never attempt to turn the ROXOR around on hills and slopes.
Use lower gears and/or 4WD Low Range to help prevent tire
spin.
While the ROXOR has extremely good traction for ascending
steep slopes, it is possible to tip over before losing traction.
Always keep the transmission in gear when descending hills and
slopes and choose a gear that will help control your descent.
