Permitted uses
The MarSurf PS 10 roughness measuring instru-
ment must only be used to measure and
evaluate roughness.
The MarSurf PS 10 roughness measuring instru-
ment can be installed both close to production
areas and in measuring rooms.
The operating, maintenance and repair
requirements specified in these oper-
a ting instructions and in the operating
instructions for the measuring station
components must be observed.
Any use not in accordance with the
"Permitted uses" or any other use will be
considered inappropriate and will result
in a voided warranty and the manu fac-
turer's exclusion from liability.
Disposal
Electronic devices, including accessories and used batteries (rechargeable
and disposable), must not be disposed of as regular garbage, since they
contain high-value materials that can be recycled and reused. European
Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE) stipulates that electrical and electronic
devices be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste so that
they may be subsequently reprocessed. The crossed-out garbage can
symbol indicates that separate collection is necessary.
Pb, Cd and Hg denote constituents which are above the legal limits.

Reasonably foreseeable misuse
Any incidental maintenance work may
only be carried out by skilled, trained staff
as directed by the operating company.
Any incidental maintenance work
must be carried out with the necessary
personal protective equipment.
Work on any parts carrying live voltage
must only be carried out once the
power supply to the device has been
dis connected and any potential residual
voltage has been safely discharged.
Safety mechanisms on the device must
not be disassembled or bypassed.
Only original probes and other accessories
produced by the manufacturer may be
used.
