E8 - Checkng the external chains
for wear
- Chain wear occurs at a number of loca-
tions.
• On the articulations, which leads to
elongation of the chain.
• On the edge of link plates through con-
tact with the pulleys.
• On the face of the plates and the exten-
ded pins through contact with the
pulley flanges.
• On the alignment of the flats of the
extended pins.
Chain elongation (E8.1)
We recommend that you perform this ope-
ration using the chain checking gauge
(MANITOU part No.: 161583).
- Set the lift truck on its stabilisers, with the
boom horizontal.
- Fully extend the telescopes and continue
operating the control for a few moments
to properly tension the chains.
- As the chain will likely wear unevenly
over its length, divide the chain into 4
equal sections and check with the gauge
at the centre of each sect
If the maximum dimension is exceeded
(228,6 mm +2 % = 233,2 mm) [8.9 in +2%=
10.7 in], replace the pair of chains (contact
your dealer).

E8 - Controllare l’usura delle catene
esterne del braccio telescopico
- Sulle catene, l’usura si manifesta in vari
punti.
• Sulle articolazioni, il che si traduce in un
allungamento della catena.
• Sul profilo delle piastre per contatto con
le pulegge.
• Sulle superfici delle piastre e degli assi
sporgenti per contatto con le ganasce
delle pulegge.
• Sull’allineamento delle spalle degli assi
sporgenti.
Allungamento delle catene (E8.1)
Per questa operazione, vi consigliamo
l’uso del righello di controllo della catena
(riferimento MANITOU: 161583).
- Collocare il carrello elevatore sugli
stabilizzatori, con il braccio in orizzontale.
- Estendere completamente i bracci
telescopici e insistere per alcuni istanti sul
comando per tendere bene le catene.
- Se l’usura non è verosimilmente uniforme
su tutta la lunghezza, suddividere la
catena in 4 parti uguali, ed effettuare
un controllo al centro di ogni parte
utilizzando il righello.
Oltre il valore maxi (228,6 mm +2%
= 233,2 mm) [8.9 in +2%= 10.7 in],
sostituire la coppia di catene (consultare il
concessionario).

Kontrollere slitasjen på de utvendige
kjettingene på teleskoparmen
- På kjettingene oppstår det slitasje på ulike
punkter.
• På leddene, som betyr at kjettingene
forlenges.
• På plateprofilene pga. kontakt med
trinsene.
• På plateoverflater og utstikkende bolter
pga. kontakt med flensene på trinsene.
• På innrettingen av platene på de
utstikkende boltene.
Slakk på kjettingene (E8.1)
For denne operasjonen anbefaler vi bruk av
en kontrollmåler for kjettinger (MANITOUs
delenummer: 161583).
- Sett gaffeltrucken på stabilisatorene, med
armen horisontalt.
- Kjør teleskoparmen helt ut og hold
betjeningskontrollen inne en stund for å
strekke kjettingene godt ut.
- Dersom slitasjen ikke er helt jevn over hele
lengden, deler du kjettingen inn i 4 like
deler og kontrollerer midt på hver del med
en målestokk.
Over maks. verdien (228,6 mm +2 % = 233,2
mm) [8.9 in +2 %= 10.7 in], skifter du ut
kjettingparet (henvend deg til forhandleren).
