BY USING GENUINE SPARES YOU ARE ASSURED THEY
WILL FIT ACCURATELY AND GIVE SATISFACTORY SERVICE
TO REMOVE OIL TANK AND BATTERY CARRIER
Drain oil tank.
Disconnect wires from battery terminals.
Remove battery.
Disconnect oil feed pipe from bottom of oil tank.
Disconnect oil return pipe from bottom of oil tank.
Disconnect vent pipe from back of oil tank.
Remove bolt retaining oil tank stay to frame.
Remove screw in base of battery carrier, retaining carrier to stay from front chain case.
Remove the two nuts and washers retaining battery carrier to the two mounting studs
and remove carrier.
Oil tank with supporting studs can then be withdrawn.
To refit reverse the above instructions.
TO REMOVE THE REAR CHAIN GUARD (Spring Frame Models)
Remove the rear wheel. (See Wheel Section.)
Remove the bolt retaining the front end of the chain guard to the rear fork.
Remove the bolt retaining the rear end of the chain guard to the rear fork. (There is a
spacer on this bolt, between the two sides of the guard.)
TO REMOVE THE REAR CHAIN GUARD (Rigid Frame Models)
Remove
The rear portion of rear mudguard.
The bolt retaining the front, top, end of the chain guard to the front chaincase.
The bolt retaining the front, bottom, end of the chain guard to the rear frame.
The bolt retaining the rear, top, end of the chain guard to the rear frame.
The chain guard is then free to be taken away.
