Put on protective clothing and eye wear.
Open the Battery Module.
Be sure that the battery cable connections are free of
corrosion.
Note:Adding terminal protectors and a corrosion preventative
sealant will help eliminate corrosion on the battery terminals
and cables.
Be sure that the battery retainers and cable connections are
tight.
Remove the battery caps and inspect the fluid level. If plates
show, add just enough fluid to cover the plates as charging
will cause fluid to expand.
Replace cables that show damage, corrosion, or swelling.
Fully charge the batteries. It is best to allow the batteries to
rest 24 hours to allow the battery cells to equalize.
Check each battery pack and verify that the batteries are
wired correctly.
Check the fluid level in each battery cell. Batteries are full
when the fluid is just below the bottom of the well.
Inspect the battery charger plug and pigtail for damage or
excessive insulation wear. Replace as required.
Connect the battery charger to a properly grounded 110
- 230V / 50 - 60 Hz single phase AC power supply.
Result: The charger should operate and begin charging the
batteries.
Result: If simultaneously, the charger alarm sounds and the LEDs
blink, consult the Troubleshooting section for charger flash
code troubleshooting.
