Raise the platform at least 6 ft / 2 m.
Result: The platform should stop and the tilt alarm will sound at 180 beeps per minute. The
platform controls LED readout should display “LL”.
Press the drive function select button.
Press and hold the function enable switch on the control handle.
Move the drive control handle in the direction indicated by the blue up arrow, then move the
drive control handle in the direction indicated by the yellow arrow.
Result: The drive function should not work in either direction.
Lower the platform and drive the machine off the blocks.
Test the Pothole Guards
Note: The pothole guards should automatically deploy when the platform is raised. The pothole
guards activate another limit switch which allows the machine to continue to function. If the
pothole guards do not deploy, an alarm sounds and the machine will not drive and lift.
Raise the platform.
Result: When the platform is raised approximately 5 ft / 1.5 m from the ground, the pothole
guards should deploy.
Press on the pothole guards on one side, and then the other side.
Result: The pothole guards should not move.
Lower the platform.
Result: The pothole guards should return to the stowed position.
Place a 2×4 in / 5×10 cm or similar piece of wood under a pothole guard. Raise the platform.
Result: When the platform is raised approximately 6 ft / 2 m from the ground, the pothole
alarm will sound at 180 beeps per minute, and the platform controls LED screen readout
should display “58”.
Press the drive function select button.
Press and hold the function enable switch on the control handle.
Move the control handle in the direction indicated by the blue arrow, and then move the control
handle in the direction indicated by the yellow arrow.
Result: The drive function should not work in either direction.
Press and hold the function enable switch on the control handle.
Depress the thumb rocker switch on top of the control handle in the direction identified by the
blue and yellow arrow on the control panel.
Result: The steer function should not work in either direction.
Lower the platform and remove the 2×4 in / 5×10 cm wood block.
Test the indoor/outdoor select Functions
Note: Perform this test from the ground with the platform controller. Do not stand in the platform.
Make sure there is safe height clerance and no overhead obstruction or electrical power wires.
Turn the key switch to ground control position.
Turn the indoor/outdoor switch to outdoor position.
Move up and hold the platform up / down switch. Raise the platform to the highest position and
measure the platform height.
Result: The platform height shall not exceed 16 ft / 4.8 m (MME20), 20 ft / 6 m (MME25).
Turn the indoor/outdoor switch to indoor position.
