Instantaneous Mode of Analysis
If no previous data were measured, then a weak cell can only be found by
comparing each cell against the string average, called deviation. The allowable
percent deviation depends upon the battery technology: flooded Lead-acid or
VRLA. Since a single cell can cause a battery failure, a single cell or two that is
considerably higher than the rest of the string suggests that further investigation
is warranted.
