Take up the bottom thread
1. Lift the presser foot and gently hold the top thread with your left hand.
2. Turn the handwheel towards you until the thread takeover lever is in the highest position. Pull the
top thread, and the bottom thread will accompany it.
3. Pull out approx. 5 cm of both threads and lay them backwards under the presser foot.
Adjust the top thread tension
When you sew, the top and bottom threads grip
each other between the two layers of fabric. It is
important to have the correct thread tension for
both the top and bottom threads to ensure the
quality of the stitching.
