Blind SpotAssist
Blind SpotAssist uses twolateral, rear-facing
radar sensorstomonitor theareaupto130 ft
(40 m) behind your vehicle and 10 ft (3 m)
directly next to your vehicle.
If avehicle is detected at speeds aboveapprox‐
imately5mph (8 km/h) and this vehicle subse‐
quently entersthe monitoring rangedirectly next
to your vehicle, thewarning lampinthe outside
mirrorlights up red.
If avehicle is detected closetoyour vehicle in
thelateral monitoring rangeand youswitch on
theturnsignal indicator in thecorresponding
direction, an acoustic warning signal sounds
once. The redwarning lampinthe outside mirror
flashes.Ifthe turnsignal indicator remains on,
all other detected vehicles areindicated onlyby
theflashingofthe redwarning lamp.
If youovertakeavehicle quickly, no warning is
given.

approaching and overtakingyou at agreatly
different speed.
As aresult, Blind SpotAssistcannotwarn
driversinthis situation.

The detection capability of Blind SpotAssist can
be restricted in thefollowing situations:
