FUEL LINE INSPECTION
Visually inspect the fuel line for cracks, swelling, leaks, hardness, or other signs of deterioration or
damage. If any of these conditions are found, the fuel line must be replaced.
WATER SEPARATING FUEL FILTER
NOTE: The warning system will turn on when water in the fuel filter reaches the full level. Refer to
Features and Controls - Warning System.
This filter removes moisture and debris from the fuel. If the filter holder becomes filled with water, the
water can be removed. If the filter becomes plugged with debris, replace the filter.
Refer to the Inspection and Maintenance Schedule for the proper maintenance interval.
Filter Removal
1. Turn the ignition key switch to "OFF" position.
2. Remove the cap from the fuel vapor purge relief valve.
!
CAUTION
Failure to release pressure from the fuel system will result in fuel spraying out, which can cause a
fire or explosion. Allow the engine to cool completely and release all fuel pressure before servicing
any part of the fuel system. Always protect eyes and skin from pressurized fuel and vapors.
3. Place a rag or towel around the valve. Release the fuel pressure by pushing in on the valve stem.
