AB-Cover Touch Calibration Software Tools Overview
IMPORTANT: A calibration routine is provided to carry out the required touch calibration sequence on
an AB-cover Display Assembly when replaced. Touch Calibration software tool details are provided within
this section. The calibration tool runs from a USB drive connected to the device under repair and runs
within the Windows OS. Follow steps within the AB-cover Display Assembly Replacement Process section
(page 38) noting when to run tools and which le to choose based on the step in the process.
Preliminary Requirements
IMPORTANT: Be sure to follow all special (bolded) notes of caution within each process section.
Required Tools and Components
Tools:
o AB-cover Touch Calibration Software Tool
Prerequisite Steps:
AB-cover replacement – Refer to AB-cover Display Assembly Replacement Process section (page 38).
USB Drive Setup – Directory Structure and Files
Copy tools to the root directory of USB drive for easy access during the calibration process.
The following les are required and should reside in the same directory on the USB key:
Folder: Project
File: STEP1_DisplayModuleReplacement.cmd
File: STEP2_DisplayModuleReplacement.cmd
Tool Runtime Details
The calibration tool runs within the Windows OS and therefore the device under repair must be functional to
the point that the tools will run on device OS.
For devices with secured Windows login accounts, login credentials are required to gain access to OS features
that enable program execution.
Once device is running and Windows login is completed, leverage Windows Explorer to navigate to the USB
drive containing the calibration tools.
Run the calibration tools in accordance with associated process steps within the AB-cover Display Assembly
Replacement Process section (page 38).
The tools perform the following two functions:
o Set device under repair into AB-cover replacement mode.
o Perform touch calibration on replaced (new) AB-cover.
