INTRODUCTION
The Micro400XL Advanced Battery Conductance Analyzer and the
Micro500XL Advanced Battery Conductance & Electrical System Ana-
lyzer provide a complete analysis for 6- and 12-volt automotive,
commercial, and marine batteries. The MicroXL Series analyzers digi-
tally display voltage, battery condition and available power, and provide
a test code for warranty management. With a menu of options, the
analyzers can function also as voltmeters and as quality control devices
capable of testing up to 100 batteries in succession.
The Micro500XL integrates the in-vehicle battery test with a starting
system test. It also provides a charging system analysis by taking
multiple measurements while the charging system is exercised and at
idle to determine if it is capable of charging the battery while supplying
the necessary power for the electrical system.
Both analyzers enable wireless printing to an optional portable printer
through a built-in IR communication port.
SAFETY
Inspect the battery for damages and check the electrolyte level.
If the electrolyte level is too low, replenish it and fully charge the battery.
Always use the necessary safety precautions when working with batter-
ies:
• Carefully read all operating and safety instructions before using the
MicroXL Series analyzer.
• Wear eye protection and use caution when working around batter-
ies.
• Do not smoke, strike a match, or cause a spark in the vicinity of the
battery.
• Keep hair, hands, and clothing as well as analyzer cords and cables
away from moving engine parts.
