DGC 6xxx
3.19 Fault Code F196 - Pump Sump Fault
Symptom:
Water is not pumped out of the cavity after a cooking cycle has finished.
Cause:
Reed switch (B1-2) does not open after a defined pumping time.
Air bubbles can collect in the filter openings. These air bubbles prevent the
full pumping away of water from the cavity.
Series modification:
A new drain filter has been installed as standard. Larger openings in the drain
filter hinder the development of air bubbles. Water can then be drained off
more effectively.
Remedy:
Install the new drain filter.
Cause:
The fault is still indicated after a new drain filter has been installed.
During the production process, the drain filter has been bent slightly, causing
the small openings to rest on the cavity. This means that insufficient water
can then be drained from the cavity.
Remedy:
Turn the drain filter by 180°. This causes the bent side to lift slightly from the
cavity and water can then also flow through the small openings. See Figure
060-9.
Figure 060-9: Rotating the Drain Filter
Cause:
Reed switch (B1-2) on drain pump defective.
Remedy:
Replace the reed switch. See Section 045-4.6.
Note:
It is not necessary to replace the entire drain pump!
