The M-touch display is navigated by touching and swiping the fingers to the
right, left, up or down. Touchpads are pressed once for operation. With each
press of an available option, the corresponding sensor lights up orange.
A selected option will have an orange border.
The M-touch display is divided into three main areas: status strip, control
panel and navigation strip.
The status strip (Figure 060-1, Item 3) is shown in the menu tree (Figure 060-
1, Item 4). The current level in the menu tree is highlighted. Other levels are
grayed out and crossed out. Should there be any additional levels above the
next highest level, three grayed-out dots will appear in the first spot of the
menu tree. The clock (Figure 060-1, Item 5) in the status strip shows the
current time.
The control panel (Figure 060-1, Item 2) features touch-sensitive touchpads
for confirming, selecting or setting content.
The control panel is used for displaying information, lists of options and test
readings, and can be navigated by swiping left or right within the available
display area.
The navigation strip (Figure 060-1, Item 1) features the OK sensor (Figure
060-1, Item 6) for the confirmation/clearing of results. In the touchpad area
(Figure 060-1, Item 8), depending on content, extreme-value icons, e.g.,
on/off for the volume setting will appear. These extreme-value icons allow
adjustable values, like volume or brightness, to be set to their extremes (on or
off). The Main menu sensor is also displayed in the touchpad area. When
Main menu is pressed, the display immediately goes back to the main menu.
In the navigation area (Figure 060-1, Item 7) are navigation and orientation
elements. If the content of the control panel should exceed the display limits,
there will be arrows (< and >) that can be used instead of swiping. Between
the right and left navigation elements are small squares that indicate the
current position in the control panel.
2.3 Loudspeaker
The loudspeaker plays back the various melodies for signal and keypad
tones.
Eleven melodies have been created for all Miele residential appliances.
These melodies can be switched off or their volume adjusted via the settings
menu.
All melodies (except for fault and timer/alarm) can be switched off with the
nighttime shutoff function (between 11 pm and 5 am).
Temporary overlap: If multiple melodies overlap temporarily, the current
melody will cut off the previous melody. This prevents melodies from
overlapping. When a message/tone is confirmed, the melody stops
immediately. The tone is confirmed with any appliance operation.
